Would you like to better manage your stress, anxiety, or chronic pain? Maybe you’re seeking balance in your life or a way to enhance your relationships. This introduction to MBSR offers a glimpse of how mindfulness can reduce stress, alleviate a range of mental and physical health problems,
and increase joy and kindness.
Join Emilie Cook, E-RYT, and owner of Find Your Center yoga studio in welcoming her meditation teacher Stephanie Swann, PhD, LCSW, for a half day introduction to MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). This four hour workshop will consist of guided meditation and introductions to several mediation techniques.
You will not be expected to meditate for four straight hours!

Stephanie Swann, PhD, LCSW, is co-owner of the Atlanta Mindfulness Institute. She is one of only three certified MBSR instructors in Georgia. Her certification is through the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, Center for Mindfulness. She teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction as well as advanced meditation courses to groups in the community. As a consultant, Dr. Swann trains mental health professionals in the practice of mindfulness-based psychotherapy. She also maintains a private counseling practice in the Atlanta area. She has over 20 years’ experience teaching in universities as well as the community. Currently Dr. Swann holds an adjunct faculty appointment with the Georgia State University School of Social Work.
