Yin is a meditative practice with an emphasis on deep stretching. In Yin, we hold the postures for a longer period of time offering added health and mobility to the joints and surrounding tissues.
In Yin/Yang fusion, we will dedicate the majority of the class to yin inspired stretches and methodology with some yang inspired postures mixed in to add in a little movement and work the larger muscle groups, leaving yogis in a state of balance—peaceful and calm, yet invigorated and refreshed. In Yin practice we delve deeper into the connective tissues and open up the often forgotten places in the body. Exploring a play on “opposing forces”, we will focus on balancing the Yin and Yang both in body and mind with this fusion approach set to (as always, in Emily’s classes) a fun and relevant playlist!
