Emilie Cook (owner) Experienced Yoga Instructor with Yoga Alliance, E-RYT200, RYT500

I came to yoga over 24 years ago when I stepped foot into my first yoga class. Yoga became an immediate and lasting influence in my life. I practiced yoga faithfully for the next decade and through all three of my pregnancies. I have studied with Gary Kraftsow, Joe Taft, Michael Johnson, Doug Keller, Libby Hensley, and Kathryn Budig. The physical benefits of yoga and the mental peace that I experienced during my practice eventually led me to
receive my 200 hour certification from Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta. I have been teaching several classes every week since 2007.
My teaching style is a combination of the Iyengar and Vinyasa style. With heavy emphasis on breath awareness and proper alignment. I am a certified, registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, as well as a certified prenatal yoga instructor. I have experience with pilates, thi chi, and yin yoga. I have taught yoga for kids, prenatal, restorative, senior, yoga for athletes and gentle yoga. My heart lies with gentle yoga and my teaching reflects that. I recently attended an extensive weekend workshop with Gary Kraftsow, where I honed my yoga as therapy skills. Above all I believe yoga should feel good. I always strive to have you leave my classes feeling better than when you came. And I believe yoga should be fun so be aware you may have to endure my silly yoga jokes! I completed my Yoga Therapeutics Training at The Asheville Yoga Center in 2017. I am now a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500 hour level with an emphasis in yoga as therapy.

Christina Barnes, RYT 200
Christina loves using yoga to help her students cultivate deeper connection with God, themselves, and others. In her Tuesday morning classes, you can expect active flow sequences, thought-provoking meditations, and playful challenge poses … always sprinkled with honest interaction and laughter.
When she's not teaching yoga, Christina is spreading love in raising her two babies or in international missions. Christina works at Adventures in Missions where she helped launch a women's ministry that reaches thousands of hurting women around the world every year -- and it was in that work that she saw the connection for yoga and outreach. When the pandemic (or the babies) aren't keeping her grounded, Christina leads Wholeness Journey missions trips to help women seek deeper levels of wholeness in mind, body, and Spirit through the development of their faith, outreach to those in need, and the practice of yoga.
